Betar US is shocked and dismayed by the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) latest attack
on the Betar movement, labeling us an “extremist” organization. This accusation is not only false, but deeply antisemitic, as it seeks to delegitimize proud Zionist Jews who embrace Jewish strength, self-
defense, and leadership.
On the same mournful day that Oded Lifschitz, and Shira, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas were returned home in
coffins, the ADL has slandered strong Jews rather than confront the true enemies of our people.
We reject the accusation of “Islamophobia.” A phobia is an irrational fear, yet there is nothing irrational
about our concern over the spread of jihadism—from Los Angeles to New York and everywhere in
between. Jewish communities worldwide are under attack, and Betar US refuses to turn a blind eye to the
very real and growing threats to Jewish safety.
At a time when antisemites feel emboldened to attack Jews without consequence, as seen in Brooklyn on
Tuesday night, we are appalled that the ADL would suggest that American Jews embracing self defense and
the Second Amendment is wrongheaded. Jewish history, both ancient and modern, teaches us that when
Jews are defenseless, our enemies feel empowered. Betar stands firmly with the right of every Jew to
defend themselves, their families, and their communities.
It is an absolute disgrace that the ADL, which claims to be “the global leader in exposing extremism,
delivering education, and fighting hate,” believes it has the right to determine who is “extreme.” While
Betar remains committed to empowering Jews and fighting antisemitism, the ADL has repeatedly
prioritized virtue-signaling, censorship, and political agendas over actual Jewish security.
In reality, it is the ADL itself that has become an extremist organization—one that actively infringes upon
free speech, opposes the Second Amendment, and divides American society through the relentless
promotion of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) policies that do nothing to protect Jews.
For those in the Jewish community who still believe the ADL is a net benefit to the Jewish people, we ask
you:
Are things getting better with the ADL and likeminded groups leading the way?
Or is it time to embrace a better way—the Betar way?
We urge every Jew who believes in strength, self-reliance, and true Zionism to join us in standing up for Jewish dignity and security. Support Betar US Now!
