STATEMENT FROM FAMILY OF ISRAELI YOUNG MAN MURDERED IN MEMPHIS

21 year old Israeli Aviv Broek was killed in Memphis Thursday evening while working as a locksmith. He was called to an empty building late at nite, a street with no cameras. While his uk passport has been recovered, his israeli passport and Israeli cellphone is missing.

“Our family is devastated to learn of the murder of our son who was only in the United States for a few months until his brutal murder.  To date, the Memphis police have provided us very little information and we are concerned.

We are foreigners, Jews in a foreign land and we need answers and believe there must be an immediate hate crimes investigation by the FBI.

His israeli passport is missing.

Today in 2024, we are Israelis and we are aware of the reality that Jews are being hunted worldwide. The enemies of the Jewish people have called to globalize the intifada and we are concerned that this maybe the case in Memphis.

We request that the FBI investigate this as a hate crime. We request that every decent American, Jew and non-Jew stands with the Jewish and Israeli community in ensuring a full civil-rights investigation now.  Today we demand answers,”said Ortal Edri Halatzi, a close family friend.

Betar US is working with the family assisting with legal and logistical assistance. Betar intends to visit Tennessee lawmakers in Washington this week to demand this immediately be deemed a hate crime.

The family is also seeking a civil rights attorney for possible civil rights claims and an estate lawyer to deal with issues related to this murder.
